Origin of Grace Bible Church

On Wednesday, April 22, 1970, Mr. & Mrs. David Winebrenner opened their home at 1025 Torrence Drive for an adult Bible study.  There were thirty three in attendance.

Interest was sufficient to continue meeting together until such time that there was clear direction whether this group should become an organized church.  Facilities were rented at Roosevelt Jr. High School, 1600 N. Limestone Street and the following Sunday, April 26, constituted the first worship service.  The Congregation eventually selected the name of GRACE BIBLE CHURCH and continued services with the pulpit being supplied by various individuals.

In March of 1971, Rev. Marvin Wiseman was called as Pastor.  Official recognition as a duly organized New Testament Church was given at services on May 23, 1971.  Thirteen acres of land was purchased on Groop Road where the congregation moved into a newly constructed building on February 25, 1973.
